A few nights ago...
In this post, I am going to give you peek at
my super ego. Actually, you have seen her before as she writes the poetry and
stories that float amongst the grey matter and dance upon the neurons in my
mind. Fair warning, she is a bit arrogant and yet she is sometimes brilliant.
Don’t say that I didn’t warn you. She likes to play the most as I drift to
sleep and upon the attempt to wake up in the morning. She is a bit of a bitch
before the caffeine from the coffee can set her straight for the day.
It still rains in
southwest Virginia, the wetness attempting to seep through every pore and
crevice of the Earth. It seems as though Goddess believes that the Southern
states are in dire need of a good cleansing. For our cleansing, she has decided
to move the land, replenish our depleted streams, and knock down old, weak
trees in favor of continued growth of what has already begun. However, she is
giving the western United States a far different cleansing. Fire burns the land
in order to make things grow anew another year from now. In the Northeast, she
has imitated the cleansing feel of a sauna as my friends sweat toxins through
their skin.
I interchange the
terms Goddess and Universe all the time. Logarithm has her higher power and I
have my Goddess. She has appeared in my dreams many times. She does not show me
anything of the Earth in these dreams. She has shown me quantum strings, black
holes, and the stars. She takes me on these journeys as many nights as my small
mind will allow, from the birth of stars to the death of whole worlds. She
tells me of the future, sometimes mine, but mostly of humanity. I am reminded
nightly how much I am not of the Earth.
We have a far
greater purpose than we allow during our waking moments. We shrink back into
ourselves during the day not believing our dreams. For if it is too good to be
true then it must be so. How can we meek, soft, pink things ever attain our
dreams? The Universe gives you those dreams and she does not give them to you
lightly. They are picked for you just as your talents we made for you to use.
You don’t have just one talent, you are given all the talents and capabilities
of the universe but it is up to you to learn how to use them. Some will always
be stronger than others but can be used to gain strength in your weaknesses.
And there are
moments where I think of how to accomplish all of this and hope that one day I
learn to bend space-time in order to get it all done. Thankfully, I do not feel
my age. I have never felt my age and it is quickly becoming a useless,
meaningless number that only follows human convention. Maybe I will find out
after all how Lazarus Long* did it.
