   Let's face it. We completely missed the mark in the election. We have allowed media outlets to dominate our thoughts. It's not as simple as turning the television off anymore, especially with the internet accessible from computers and phones. What has happened over the past several months is that I have quieted the voices of many people by unfollowing their Facebook newsfeed. I have also taken measures and used the list of fake news or clickbait websites and blocked them. But I know that not every American is doing just that and the spread of misinformation continues.    What I did notice in a conversation I had the other day with my more conservative friend at work is that I didn't listen to her all too well. We disagree on two main issues; abortion and whether or not Christianity should be a national religion that is involved in the affairs of state. What Life Resembles After an 8 Hour Shift with Fibromyalgia

   It's about time I talked about my life when I am fighting fibromyalgia flare-ups. I have done everything I think that is possible to ease the nightly pain. I have shoes that are made for comfort and work with added foot cushioning in each shoe. I take Advil during a flare-up as preventative maintenance to aches. I try not to stand still at the counter but move, clean, and stretch between customers. The only conclusion that I have come to learn is that I was in remission during my first three years at Roanoke College and it wasn't until I went back to work in retail last year that the fibro came back.    This is not to say that I did not have bad days three years before. Sure, I had pain some days but it did not consistently last for more than two weeks per flare-up. For fibro patients, that is a major win. RC Bands Celebrate Poetry Date: Mar 1, 2016 7:30 PM Location: Olin Theater The “Poetry” Concert Salem, Va.—The Roanoke College Jazz and Wind Ensembles under the direction of Dr. Joseph Blaha will present their annual joint Late Winter Concert Tuesday, March 1, in the Olin Hall Theater at 7:30 p.m. In a concert themed The “Poetry” Concert, RC Senior Amanda Wright, jazz and lead alto saxophonist with RC Jazz Ensemble, will do readings of hers and others poetry throughout the concert.
