Random thoughts at 11 PM.

It is fifteen minutes before 11:00 PM and I am in bed watching Blazing Saddles and cuddling with my favorite fur baby. Some of you may not be familiar with Mel Brooks and his infamous comedies. I grew up with them and enjoy their company while my brain tries to reach LaLa Land. They are wonderfully and completely as far from political correctness as possible. There are not enough modern comedies in the past few years that can reach this level of goofiness. I have yet to see the Hangover movies that everyone raves about. One of the best comedies in the past ten years, to me, has been Dodgeball, goofy comedies that actually have a story line. Maybe that is why I miss my Saturday morning Looney Tunes cartoons. Luckily, a local theatre shows them for free on Saturday mornings once a month. Looney Tunes on the big screen as they were originally viewed during my grandparent’s youth.
Technology has impacted our lives to the point that makes many of us baby boomers and gen xer’s yearn for those memories. We still played outside until dark even though we owned Ataris and tons of games. This is why so many of us have been touting the importance of “unplugging” for a few hours, a day, or even a week. Information is at our fingertips and accessible 24 hours a day. It is very overwhelming and can be addictive. I know. I can get sucked into gaming faster than a crack addict on their first day out of the Betty Ford clinic.
Quickly checking Facebook on my phone, I see that the Bruins have lost the game. When you read more F-bombs than you hear out of the mouths of a workout yard full of convicts, you know better than to poke the bear. Out of my 369 Facebook friends, 123 are New Englanders. You can never accuse any of us for not being passionate about our home teams. We are as highly critical as we are in praise of them. The Patriots are one of my hot buttons where I am as vehemently passionate about football as I am about climate change. There are probably a few more hot buttons but do you really want to learn how strong I am by pressing all of them at once? Something about knocking someone into next week comes to mind.
Some of you may have missed my tweets this past weekend. At points, I was in rare form. I will list a few of the better ones here:

Thinking that hydrohalogenation of my sinus passageways via induction of chlorine would kill this head cold. Pool time later!

I can tell the days I forget my ADD meds... I get these crazy, ran... oh look a squirrel! Thoughts... where was I?

Just dawned on me that I might be a chocolate/coffee/tea snob.

Apologies 2 neighbors in advance 4 my French while working on the house. However, I can swear in 3 languages. #whatsthepointinholdingback

Tried 2 maneuver Dad's longest ladder. It's like watching a midget wrestle an 18 ft alligator. #nooffense2littlepeople

Hyperextend left forearm. Check. And that wasn't even on my to-do list today! It's nice to get that extra thing done! #drippingsarcasm

If U see a woman walking in the rain, ask her out. If she begins to dance in the rain, marry her.

I don't need to watch sports on tv anymore. I just wait for my friends to update their status.

I am phasing in and out of semi-consciousness, so I will bid y’all adieu!
